Pirate Marie waited so long at the animal shelter for someone to adopt her that her face turned white. The precious dog waited half of her life at the Oahu SPCA in Hawaii for someone to give her a forever loving home. For seven long years, no one asked to see her and she kept getting passed over by potential adopters. Until one day, Jennifer Hoyt and her husband heard Pirate Marie’s story.
Hoyt and her hubby are both active military and got stationed in Hawaii. Hoyt knew she wanted to volunteer at an animal shelter, with the goal to eventually adopt a dog of their own.
Little did Hoyt realize how their lives were about to change. At 11-1/2 years of age, Pirate Marie found her forever family with the Hoyts.
The couple dotes on the dog and Pirate Marie is finally living her best life. She gets lots of love, attention, and runs around with puppy energy. The couple started an Instagram account for her, which you can follow @pirate_marie. We love a tail-wagging, happy ending!
