Time and time again, we hear stories of cops a.busing their power. But many forget that most cops are wonderful, selfless human beings that want nothing more than the world to be a safe place for all– including animals.
A tiny coyote pup was stranded in the midst of a busy town in Massachusetts. Trooper Carlo Mastromattei had no idea how he had gotten there and his mom was nowhere in sight. The responsible officer would have normally taken the pup to a wildlife center immediately but it was late at night and everything was closed.

Trooper Carlo contacted an expert, Lisa Cutting, owner of Ocean View Kennels, and asked for advice. She told him how to gently move the pup and put him into his vehicle. But now what? The officer then went above and beyond his call of duty. He took the coyote pup home for the night!
The wildlife center would reopen in the morning but for now, the pup was under the officer’s care. His girlfriend pitched in as the two stayed up all night with the little guy making sure he was fed and cozy.
The next morning Trooper Carlo brought the pup to the center where he got a clean bill of health. All thanks to the kindhearted, devoted officer!

The pup will remain at Ocean View Kennels until he is strong enough to return to the wild. Click play on the video below to learn more about the baby coyote and his little adventure with Trooper Carlo.
