A 10-week-old Golden Retriever puppy was found d.ead inside a submerged cage in Jennings Pond off of Bonter Road in West Milford, New Jersey. “The Last Resort”, a non-profit rescue organization, retrieved the “ice-cold, soaked” pup stuck within the lakebed vegetation.

The rescue officer found puppy training pads stuck to the side of the puppy’s head with a little blood on them. The crate had weights attached to it and also contained a crystal vase with a price tag of “$22” still on it.
The puppy has been named Jenny and the police are currently investigating the situation around her d.eath. The initial cause of d.eath seems to be drowning, but they are waiting for the necropsy/autopsy report to get a complete picture. Currently, there are no suspects or leads.
