Jan Johnson, a practice owner of Nature Coast Animal Wellness & Surgical Center, was absolutely horrified when she witnessed a Pit Bull being dragged behind a truck on the road in Florida.

The dog eventually came loose from the truck and flew into the median, while the truck continued to drive away.

Johnson and other witnesses quickly came to his rescue. He was rushed to the center where vets assessed him. While he has scrapes and burns all over his body from being dragged, he thankfully did not break any bones. He is being monitored for internal bleeding, but he is expected to make a full recovery.

The dog, now named Ollie, is estimated to be around one to two years old and is sweet as can be! Despite everything he’s been through, he loves everyone he meets and is always wagging his tail.

One of Nature Coast’s vet techs took him home so he could feel as comfortable as possible in a “home” environment. He is currently sore, but healing well.

“This was the most horrific act of animal cruelty and honestly, none of us are able to even to comprehend it,” Nature Coast wrote on Facebook.
