Sam the Pointer and Cosmo the Lab mix lived together with their humans in Illinois for the past ten years, but when their owners got divorced, everything spiraled downhill.
Their dad was moving in with his girlfriend, who was unfortunately allergic to dogs. Instead of the man rehoming the two doggy brothers, he brought them to a vet in Portage, Illinois to be euthanized.

Thankfully, the veterinarian refused the man’s request to have his healthy, friendly and playful dogs euthanized, referring to it as “convenience euthanasia.”
Sadly, sometimes owners have their pets euthanized for personal or convenience reasons such as divorce, allergies, moving, shedding, job loss, among many others.

The two dogs were transferred to Begin Again Rescue Co. before they were taken to Peoples Animal Welfare Society in Tinley Park, Illinois.
Soon after, a couple from Lockport, Illinois named Eric and Tiffany Dybas, heard about Cosmo and Sam’s sad story and decided to give them a loving forever home just in time for the holidays!

Cosmo and Sam have settled into their new home and are enjoying their new life.
Their new parents will love them unconditionally and see them as family rather than property.
