Why we see such horror time and time again is something we will never understand. But we hope that with more awareness– and stricter animal cruelty laws, we can bring an end to such suffering.
A concerned neighbor saw a dog wandering about with her snout taped TIGHTLY shut. The tape had been there for some time. The neighbor called A.R.C. Vietnam and asked that rescuers come immediately. They picked her up and immediately took her to a hyperbaric chamber to promote healing. They named the sweet dog Lucky.
They continued to treat her using homeopathic methods. The medical staff felt this was the best route for such a wound. Her injured snout was so severe, it was down to the bone. But as treatment progressed, new pink skin began to grow in. It truly was a miracle. This sort of injury would have led to euthanasia in many instances.
As Lucky continued to heal, the organization shared her good fortune, and photos, with other rescue groups. One group in Germany volunteered to take her in and work tirelessly to find Lucky a new home.
Now with her new friends, Lucky is thriving. She eats a special diet of soft foods and gets loads of playtime with her new pack. Just look! She’s even smiling!
If you look closely in the video below, there’s another friend of Lucky’s with a similar injury. It’s so sad but beneficial for Lucky that she is not alone in her healing. The rescue group deals with this sort of handicap and knows how to handle it.
Lucky continues to thrive in her new environment and with her new friends. As soon as she is well enough, she will be placed for adoption where we are sure she will have no trouble finding the perfect family who will NEVER EVER hurt her.
While Lucky’s initial situation was heartbreaking, her story of survival and new friends is heartwarming! Thank goodness this world is filled with more animal lovers than a.busers!
