Hope For Paws received a call about a homeless dog in central California, and they made the three-hour trip to rescue him without hesitation. The poor dog had been living by himself in the park for over a year. And when they arrived, they saw the dog walking up to some people to beg for food.

The tiny pup was so happy to be found and rescued that he allowed Loreta to pick him right up; the Lucky Leash wasn’t even necessary! The rescuers appropriately named him Happy and checked for a microchip. The dog didn’t have one, so they headed back to the hospital for a checkup and bath.

Happy loved his first grooming session and first warm bath in who knows how long. He had fleas, ticks, and matted fur removed and ended up looking like a brand new dog! Smooch Pooch Dog Rescue offered to foster Happy, and now a forever home is the only thing that could make him even happier! ?
