Dog Dumped By Family After She Gets Paralyzed, She Now Looks For A Little Dignity

Starfish, a sweet Golden Retriever, was paralyzed after an a.ccident. Two weeks later, her world came crumbling down when her family dumped her at a rural shelter, covered in urine, feces and mud. The shelter workers thought it would be best to put her down.

However, one volunteer wouldn’t give up on Starfish. She reached out to several shelters asking for help, but there were no takers for Starfish. Finally, ‘Second Chance Rescue’ answered the pleas of the volunteer and decided to help Starfish survive!
With the help of some donations, Starfish received another go at life. She was given a bath and her dirty fur was cleaned up. After weeks of receiving the best care and rehabilitation, her condition stabilized and she was finally able to smile with some dignity!

Soon, the shelter got her a custom-fitted cart, which enabled her to reclaim her independence. Now, she moves on her own, spreading the happiest smiles in the shelter. It does seem like the stars had aligned to help Starfish beat her misfortune and come out shining like a true star!

Update: We have learned that by the time Starfish finished her rehab, she got officially adopted by a home in Westchester County NY. What a perfect happy ending for this sweet girl!
