It’s in the nature of most dogs and cats to be sworn enemies, dodging and avoiding each other whenever they cross paths. Which may be why dog lovers and cat lovers are two distinct groups of people that can rarely see eye to eye. The only time a dog and a cat would actually tolerate one another and get along well is if they were raised together under the same roof.
