Emily Martin of Care More Animal Hospital in Georgia gave Taka immediate attention for inhalation burns. He was hooked up to oxygen and everyone prayed for him to pull through. Emily would often bring Taka home to give him uninterrupted care.
After Taka survived the critical phase, Emily shifted focus towards healing the many physical burns near his eyes, mouth, ears and belly. Unfortunately, Taka had already grown blind, and his best bet was to endure the physical pain and recover soon.

Emily was heartbroken by Taka’s wails of pain each night. Like the dedicated vet she is, she brought him comfort by singing to him and napping with him in-between shifts. Currently, she is cherishing her days of nurturing Taka and helping him regain his happy persona. We wish her all the luck!

Update: Taka’s family had entrusted him to Emily, as they were unsure about being able to attend to his special needs. Emily eventually helped the all-healed Taka to find his forever home with one of the members of the staff. Just look at him smile now! What a miracle baby!
