Pit bulls are often wrongly thought of as automatically being vicious for no reason other than their breed. It’s a stereotype that continues to make its rounds, and because of this, a lot of really nice and well-behaved dogs are paying the price.

And in this world where people unfairly blame the pit bull breed for being aggressive and mean, this one was shunned for his love of toys. Can you believe it? Deemed unadoptable for being too “grabby” when it came to his extreme desire for toys and playing, this dog was nearly euthanized all because he was misunderstood.

But Leonard would go on to become Ohio’s very first pit bull police dog! Dogs with high toy drives make good K9s, and this good boy is using his passion to help fight crime with the Chief of Police in Clay Township. Leonard’s just trying to shatter stereotypes one crime at a time! ?
